Located in Southeastern Florida, Miami is a major center and a leader in finance, commerce, culture, media, entertainment, the arts and international trade. The Port of Miami known as the “Cruise Capital of the World” has been the number one cruise passenger port in the world.  There are many different sections of Miami partitioned into North, South, West and Downtown. The heart of the city is Downtown Miami and is technically on the eastern side of the city. Downtown is the central business district and is home to the largest concentration of international banks in the U.S.  East of downtown across Biscayne Bay is South Beach. Northwest of Downtown is the Civic Center which is Miami’s center for hospitals and research institutes. The Southern side includes Coral Way and Coconut Grove. The Western side includes Little Havana and the Northern side includes Midtown, Edgewater and Wynwood. The wealthier residents tend to live in the Northeastern part which includes Midtown, the Design District and the Upper East Side.  Known for its great weather and water views, Miami is home to wonderful restaurants professional sports teams, popular nightlife and an array of arts and cultural events.
